Those of you that read my previous blog, will breathe a sigh of relief to hear about the day preceding our "wild ride" to Paradise. Our trip to Old Faithful and our stay in the original part of the inn was wonderful - relaxing, comforting, and inspiring. The room we stayed in was picturesque with old wood planks lining the walls and ceiling. The window shutters opened to a view of steaming geysers.

The antique dresser was a perfect touch in the room. No T.V. or radio cluttered the landscape.
The lobby of the inn was massive but ironically, cozy with its dark, rough timbers, dim lighting, and comfy chairs offering solitude or conversation.
For a moment, I thought I was back in the "westerns" I use to read. Having just come off several months of constant deadlines and activities, it felt so good to relax and breathe in the moments, rest, and enjoy nature. We took long walks around the area while "letting off steam."
So, it is often the routine "old faithful" events of life that give us comfort and stability to life. Special moments come sporadically (much like some of the unpredictable geysers in the park), thrown into the mix of life, that add spice and surge but it is always nice to welcome back the comfortable "old shoe" that fits our "person".
