A shout out to our daughter

All parents admire their children. In fact, there is a saying in the midwest that "every cow licks its own calf." So, with that in mind, allow me to indulge in a short acknowledgment of how much we admire our daughter. I could not do what she has done. I simply do not have the courage or even the fortitude to plunge ahead in a foreign country. She has jumped in "head first", as we say, learning the language, the culture, the habits... She has grown to love the people looking into hearts and lending a smile of God. She is not afraid to joke with them and laugh easily at jokes or to scold them gently when they try to cheat her.

We so appreciate her hospitality and graciousness at allowing us to come and visit her. She has been a wonderful hostess. For that we thank her. We thank her, too, for helping us to open our eyes to the greater needs.

Aren't children wonderful. Norma was here for Nick, Joy and Kenzie's visit. She said, "I enjoy seeing all the pictures and reading about your visit." She is not sure that she is interested in eating exploding fish, however.
