It was dad's idea to sit in the "director's chair" while she was gone. He had one of the workers take a picture of him so he could surprise Laura when she looked at the photos on her camera. He constantly surprises us by his sense of humor and wit. As he feels more comfortable in his surroundings, he begins to blossom.

Dad found the perfect anniversary present for mom at a rummage sale in the area. One of the other residents found it first and would not agree to resale it so they returned to the rummage sale and were delighted to find that the family had another treasure box just like it. Everyone was happy!!
Mom unwraps her anniversary gift as dad delights in the McDonalds meal brought in thoughtfully by his son Lee and his wife Valerie. McDonalds has been a favorite place for mom and dad in the past years so it brings many pleasant memories for them.
Dad is so proud of the flowers he picked out for mom and mom is enjoying the pleasant moments together to treasure in her memory. Sixty One years together and love and devotion continue to charaterize each of their hearts. This has been difficult for both of them - to be separated and living in different facilities. An yet, it has strengthened their spiritual roots and testimony of God's faithfulness throughout the ups and downs of life. In my opinion, they both look great and I am very proud of their courage.
